These grant funds may be used to strengthen physical security and/or upgrade security equipment (EX: lighting, fencing, cameras, mass communication systems, alarms, etc.). Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP)
UP TO $150,000 GRANT FUNDING PER SITE
This program provides funding support for target hardening and other physical security enhancements to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk for violent attacks and hate crimes due to ideology, beliefs, or mission.
It can help cover physical security and/or upgrade security equipment (EX: lighting, fencing, cameras, mass communication systems, alarms, etc.) — as well as covering management and administration, training, security personnel and emergency preparedness planning.
NSGP Funding amount:
Up to $150,000 per address for a total of $450,000 per applicant

Supports projects that strengthen physical security against potential terrorist threats.
Includes security equipment upgrades such as: lighting, fencing, cameras, mass communication systems, alarm systems, bollards, speed bumps, access control, ballistic film/mirrored tint.
Funds may also cover management & administration, training, security personnel, and emergency preparedness planning.

Nonprofit organizations categorized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations must demonstrate they are at high risk of terrorist attacks based on factors such as ideology, mission, or prior threats.

Nonprofit Security Grant Program – National Security Supplemental (NSGP-nss)
UP TO $200,000 GRANT FUNDING PER SITE
Provides funding for physical security enhancements and other security-related activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack. The NSGP also seeks to integrate the preparedness activities of nonprofit organizations with broader state and local preparedness efforts.
NSGP-NSS Funding amount:
Up to $200,000 per address for a total of $600,000 per applicant
NSGP-NSS funding purpose:
Provides funding for physical security enhancements and other security-related activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack.
The NSGP-NSS was authorized by Congress in FY2024 to bolster nonprofit security and protectthose organizations facing an elevated threatlevel due to the Israel-Hamas war.

Up to $200,000 per address for a total of $600,000 per applicant

UP TO $250,000 GRANT FUNDING PER SITE
This state-level program offers funding support for target hardening and other physical security enhancements to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk for violent attacks and hate crimes due to ideology, beliefs, or mission.
It can help cover physical security and/or upgrade security equipment — as well as covering management and administration, training, security personnel and emergency preparedness planning.

CSNSGP funding purpose:

POST-GRANT AWARD MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION (M&A)
Management and Administration (M&A) refers to costs associated with the oversight, coordination, and implementation of the grant funding. Upon being awarded grant funding, the facility does not receive a check for the amount awarded. Instead, the facility is responsible for obtaining bids and providing receipts for various security upgrades, to be reimbursed by California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) or FEMA as well as providing various forms and compliance related paperwork throughout the process
Alos Defense Solutions takes the burden off the client by offering the M&A service to include the following:

Outline project objectives, timeline, and deliverables. Set up communication channels with stakeholders. Conduct initial meetings with vendors and consultants.

Vendor Selection and Procurement
Draft Request for Proposals (RFP) and vendor requirements. Review bids and proposals. Conduct vendor interviews and evaluations. Select and finalize vendor agreements.

Budget Management and Financial Tracking
Set up budget-tracking system. Monthly or quarterly budget reviews. Process reimbursements and payments to vendors. Report financial progress and reconcile discrepancies

M&A costs cannot exceed 5% of the total award amount under NSGP and must be separately identified and justified in the grant application.

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply to all three grants (NSGP, NSGP-NSS, CSNSGP)?
Yes, you can apply to all three grants. These grants can be applied for in the same fiscal year.
How often can I apply for these three grants?
Each of these grants is annual. You can apply to each grant, every year. Even after being awarded grant funding, there is noprohibition from re-applying to the same grant the following year.
How does the payment work for Nonprofit Security Grant applications?
The client is responsible for paying Alos Defense Solutions for the Nonprofit Security Grant application (to include Physical Threat Assessment, Vulnerability Assessment Worksheet, Application/Investment Justification). It is preferred that the client pay half upon the commencement of services and half upon completion, although this is flexible.
How does the payment work for Management and Administration services?
After being awarded the grant funding, the Management & Administrative costs are taken from the grant funding and are not paid directly by the client. Each grant has a clause built into it, in which 5% of the grant funding awarded can be used for Management & Administrative costs.
Is there a guarantee of being awarded the grant funding?
No, there is no guarantee of being awarded grand funding. However, Alos Defense Solutions possesses qualified staff including experienced former US Special Operators as well as grant writers with a high success rate. If a client does not earn grant funding while applying for a grant, Alos Defense Solutions will assist the client with re-applying for the same grant the following year, but at no additional cost to you.
